Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 30, 2026

This website is the personal portfolio of Monisha M. This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, and handled when visitors browse the website, interact with the AI assistant, or submit an inquiry.

1. Analytics and Website Usage

This website uses two analytics services to understand visitor activity and improve the portfolio.

Vercel Web Analytics provides aggregated information about website traffic, including page views, referral sources, approximate geographic location, browser, operating system, and device type. It does not use cookies. Visits are counted using a hash of request information that resets every day, rather than a persistent identifier, and the website owner does not receive personally identifiable visitor profiles.

Microsoft Clarity shows how visitors interact with the website through heatmaps, scrolling behavior, clicks, and session recordings. Clarity captures interactions such as clicks, taps, scrolling, and mouse movement, the content displayed on the page, and technical information such as browser, device, and approximate location. Microsoft processes visitors' IP addresses to provide the service.

On this website, Clarity is configured to operate without cookies, and its advertising and analytics storage settings are set to “denied” for every visitor. In this mode, each page view is recorded as a separate session and returning visitors are not recognized.

Microsoft may collect or receive personal data from visitors to this website through Clarity, including to provide Microsoft Advertising, and may use it as described in the Microsoft Privacy Statement, including to create user profiles for purposes that include advertising. Because advertising storage is set to “denied”, Clarity is configured not to share data from this website with Microsoft Advertising.

Conversations with the AI assistant and information entered into the contact form are excluded from session recordings through content masking. Masking is applied from the moment the page loads, so these areas appear in recordings as blocked-out shapes rather than text, and it has been tested on desktop and mobile layouts.

For further information, please refer to the Microsoft Privacy Statement.

2. AI Assistant — Monu

Monu is an AI-powered assistant designed to answer questions about the portfolio, projects, and professional experience featured on this website.

Messages submitted through Monu are sent to Anthropic, which processes them to generate responses. For more information, refer to Anthropic's Privacy Policy.

The website stores each question and generated response together with:

The conversation identifier is not derived from a visitor's name, account, or device. Because it links messages together, and because messages contain whatever a visitor chooses to write, stored conversations are not treated as anonymous.

Visitors' IP addresses are processed temporarily when a message is sent. The hosting provider uses them to deliver the request and determine the approximate country, and the website converts them into a one-way hashed key, held only temporarily in the server's working memory, to limit how many questions can be asked. Neither the IP address nor the hashed key is written to the stored conversation records.

A copy of each question and response also appears in the hosting provider's operational logs, which are kept for approximately one hour.

Stored conversations are deleted automatically 12 months after they are created.

Visitors are advised not to share sensitive, confidential, or unnecessary personal information when interacting with Monu.

3. Contact Form

When an inquiry is submitted through the contact form, the information provided, such as a name, email address, and message, is processed through Web3Forms and delivered to the website owner's email inbox. Web3Forms also processes technical information, such as the sender's IP address and browser details, and may use spam-filtering services to check submissions.

This information is used to respond to inquiries, discuss potential opportunities, and communicate regarding professional collaborations.

Web3Forms retains a copy of each submission for 30 days. Inquiries received by email are kept only as long as reasonably necessary for communication and follow-up.

For more information, refer to the Web3Forms Privacy Policy.

4. Cookies and Browser Storage

This website does not use advertising or analytics cookies. It keeps a few items in the visitor's own browser so the site works as expected: the chosen light or dark theme and the current Monu conversation, both cleared when the tab is closed; whether sound is turned on; and a counter for the Monu question limit, which expires on its own. These items stay on the visitor's device and are not used for tracking.

5. Data Sharing and Retention

Information collected through this website is used to operate and improve the portfolio, provide its AI assistant, analyze website usage, and respond to inquiries.

Certain information is processed by third-party service providers to support these functions: Vercel (hosting and analytics), Neon (database for Monu conversations), Microsoft (Clarity), Anthropic (AI responses), and Web3Forms (contact form). Like any website host, Vercel processes visitors' IP addresses to deliver the website.

Personal information is not sold by the website owner.

Information is retained as follows:

6. Your Privacy Choices

Visitors may contact the website owner to request information about personal data they have submitted, ask for corrections, or request deletion. Because Monu conversations are not linked to a name or account, a deletion request should describe what was asked and approximately when, so the conversation can be found and permanently deleted. Contact inquiries can be identified by the email address used.

Session recordings and analytics data are not linked to names or contact details, so the website owner cannot identify an individual visitor's Clarity or Vercel data. Requests about data that Microsoft holds can be made through the Microsoft Privacy Statement.

Visitors can limit analytics through browser privacy settings or content blockers. Microsoft Clarity also honors the Global Privacy Control signal.

Requests will be reviewed and handled in accordance with applicable privacy laws.

7. Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated to reflect changes in website functionality, third-party services, or data-handling practices.

The latest revision date will be displayed at the top of this page.
